Welcome to the Tequila Shooter Recipes Guide
Here you will find popular and simple to make tequila shooters from around the world.
For as far as shooter recipes go, tequila shooters are not the kindest and best tasting of shooters and certainly not for the faint-hearted. But it is believed that it is the most popular of all shots.
Tequila is often shot neat (clean, without anything else). It takes “practice” to really enjoy it in this way. Very chilled, gold tequila works best for the purpose.
Tequila is said to make you drunk quicker than other spirits. This has not been scientifically proven but we believe it’s not far from the truth.
Here are the Tequila Shooters carefully selected by Cocktail Mixing Master:
STRAIGHT TEQUILA SLAMMER
Likely the most popular tequila shooter of all times.
Slice of lemon
Preparation:Pour a shot into the glass. Pour a pinch of salt on top of your hand. Lick the salt off, shoot the tequila and suck on the lemon. Alternatively you can frost the glass with salt (see the picture on the right).
A much more pleasant version: Replace the salt with sugar, and the lemon with orange. Make sure to use gold tequila.
ROYALE TEQUILA SLAMMER
A nice variation on the Straight Tequila Slammer.
Preparation:Pour the tequila and champagne into the glass. Hold your palm over the glass to seal it, grip it and slam it on the table a few times (not so hard that it breaks!). Shoot!
Variation: Replace the champagne with ginger ale.
Also known as “Drink and Die”. This one brings you close to death.
Equal parts tequila and white sambuca
Few drops of Tabasco sauce
Preparation:Layer the ingredients in the sequence above so that the Tabasco forms a thin line between the tequila and sambuca. Shoot!
A variation on this is to leave out the sambuca, pour a few drops of Tabasco in the glass and carefully pour the tequila on top. It will burn you twice!
A better tasting tequila shooter.
Strawberry cream liqueur
Preparation:Stir the ingredients together in the glass. Shoot!
Replace the liqueur with milk to make a “Mexican Titty”.
Preparation:Layer the ingredients in this order. Shoot!
